How Paper is Made (CBT)
This self-instructional interactive computer-based training course will provide learners with an in-depth overview of the entire pulping and papermaking process, from woodyard to finished product. Through approximately 8 hours of instruction, participants learn pulping and papermaking terms, concepts, and processes. TAPPI will award up to .8 continuing education units (CEU's) to individuals who complete the course and submit an evaluation form and application to TAPPI.
You will learn to:
- identify the major processes and equipment involved in making pulp and paper
- define basic papermaking terms, grades of paper and paperboard and important properties
- define the major differences between wood fiber, raw materials, pulp types, and non- fibrous additives
Who will benefit: Employees whose position responsibilities require knowledge about the pulping and papermaking process.
