Goulds Pumps, an ITT Industries company, has announced that it's new Vogel IC Series, ISO 5199 chemical process pump, can be supplied as a package with the patented HydrovarTM microprocessor based variable speed pump system controller. It is anticipated that Hydrovar\IC pumping packages will set a new standard for process system design as this unique pumping solution offers customers the opportunity to eliminate costly control devices, common to traditional fixed-speed system designs, while greatly improving pump reliability for reductions of Life cycle cost
Hydrovar truly revolutionizes pumping system design. The Hydrovar controller constantly monitors process conditions and then varies pump operating speed to match pump output with system demand. Up to 50% reductions in energy consumption are possible in addition to reduces installtion cost as process control valves, starter panels and bypass circulation piping commonly found in fixed speed systems can be elimianted.
In additions, the Hydrovar controller also protects the IC pump from unfavorable operating conditions such as dry running, dead heading and cavitation resulting in extended pump life and reduced maintenance cost.
The Hydrovar controller can operate with any standard electric motor up to 45kW and can be supplied in both walls mounted or panel mounted versions. The Hydrovar enclosure is in accordance with IP54 however is capable of remote mounting for severe duty applications.
The Vogel IC Series Chemical Process pump is designed in accordance ISO 5199 and ISO 2858, making it ideal for worldwide chemical or industrial process applications. The IC pump range includes 30 sizes, which are capable of flows up to 450 m3/h and heads up to 150m. IC pumps are suitable for service temperatures ranging from -40? C to 177? C and operating pressures up to 16 bar. The IC series is available in a comprehensive range of materials including ductile iron, 316 Stainless Steel, Duplex Stainless, and high alloys.
