The model 3196 CC is designed for general industrial service where space is limited or the cost associated with a frame mounted pump would not be suitable. While the model 3196 CC is not designed to meet ANSI B 73.1, it will meet some of the requirements due to the fact that the liquid end incorporates all of the features and benefits of the standard ANSI 3196.
The close-coupled design is compact and lightweight and requires no alignment. The 3196 CC may be cart mounted for applications where portability is desired. The open impeller design of the 3196 CC makes it possible to pass larger solids and offers more wear area than enclosed impeller pumps. The 3196 CC helps eliminate motor failure due to fluid ingress by providing extra protection for the motor through the use of labyrinth seals in front of the conventional motor lip seal, this provides double protection. Because the 3196 CC liquid end parts are interchangeable with the standard 3196, there are savings on inventory costs.
The 3196 CC has been designed for ease of maintenance; impeller clearances can be restored "as new" in minutes without any disassembly. This maintains operating efficiencies, while lowering costs. The 3196 CC also features a back pullout design, which means that all of the pump operating parts can be removed without disturbing the suction or discharge piping.
