The Whirlflo® series is perfect for handling sludge and slurries containing large solids, entrained air and fibrous/stringy material. Fully recessed impellers produce a clear flow path to the pump discharge, allowing the pumping of large solids. Spherical solids of up to 10 inches (250mm) pass easily through these pumps.
The recessed impellers, with rear shroud pump-out vanes, reduce axial thrust and stuffing box pressure, which helps to extend seal, packing sleeve and bearing life. An easy access, back pull-out design eliminates piping disconnects, simplifies maintenance and minimizes downtime. Whirlflo® is available in cast iron, high chromium iron and stainless steel. Vortex pumps are available in sizes from 2” (50mm) to 10” (254mm), with capacities to 7,000 GPM (1600m3h) and heads to 240 feet (73m)
