March 22, 2012, Seneca Falls, NY—ITT Goulds Pumps was recently honored for a video supporting Pump Appreciation Day, an international celebration of pumps as the heart of industry.

We Are Goulds Pumps, a video that recognizes hardworking ITT Goulds Pumps employees and customers, received two “Addy” awards for creative excellence from the Rochester Advertising Federation, the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation. The video took home a Gold Addy in the Advertising for the Arts & Sciences category, and top honors overall as the Best of Broadcast winner.

The Minneapolis-based panel of judges remarked that the video shined a new light on the industry and made a lasting impression. “What could be more boring than trying to film a pump? Not sure, but in this case the agency did something extraordinary with the opportunity, while channeling their inner Tarantino,” the judges said.

“It’s challenging to represent industrial products well, and it can be even tougher working with real employees as your talent. The result is a marriage of concept, great voice over and beautiful cinematography which is unusual for the industry. It was firing on all cylinders.”

ITT Goulds Pumps is producing a second video, illustrating the importance of industrial pumps to the world, that will premier on the first observance of Pump Appreciation Day, April 10, 2012. Both videos will be available on www.PumpAppreciationDay.com.

    Other plans and programs include:

    • Pulse of Industry Honor Roll—Pump-industry workers can be named to this new honor roll for such achievements as improving pump efficiency, providing outstanding maintenance, solving engineering or manufacturing challenges, or exceeding expectations to keep equipment running.
    • Heart of Industry Awards—Presented by the ITT Goulds Pumps sales organization on or around April 10, these awards will recognize industrial operations for excellence in using pump technology to improve processes, satisfy customers and enhance our modern way of life.
    • Support for CPR education—ITT Goulds Pumps will provide funds and support training events for the international Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Program, supported by the American Heart Association and its global partners. The program teaches first aid, including the recommended method for hands-only CPR. ITT Goulds Pumps already has launched the World of Pumps Quiz (www.WorldOfPumpsQuiz.com), which challenges its customers to answer industry-related questions and pledges donations to the ECC Program for every correct answer.
